Dream Parties: Spice Girls Edition

If you know me well, you know I have this weird obsession with planning theme parties. The outfit, the foods, the decor, the activities.

Unfortunately, so few of my party ideas ever come to fruition. Parties are expensive and people are busy, so we only throw one or two big parties a year. So I thought I'd start this new series on the blog where I pick a party theme and run with it. These parties will probably never happen, but I think you will want them to.

Today's party is a Spice Girls theme.

The most important thing about this party is what you wear. It is mandatory to come dressed up in an outfit inspired by your favorite Spice Girl. Please do not wear a plain black dress, unless Posh Spice was really your favorite, which I SERIOUSLY doubt.

Also, platform shoes are a must. You'll probably trip and fall while we dance under the disco ball (those were cool again in the 90s), but most of our house is carpeted so you'll be fine.

To finish your look, peace sign temporary tattoos and glitter/iridescent nail polish will be given as favors.

This should go without saying, but we're watching Spice World.

Food will be a potluck of spicy foods including salsa & chips and jalapeno poppers. We're drinking only Pepsi products, because we're the Generation Next. Dessert will be cupcakes topped with tiny British flags and lollipops  (we'll get the Spice Girls brand of lollipops if I can find them on Ebay or something. I used to have a bunch that I was saving as "collector items", but I ended up eating them all).

So......are you coming?

  2. I totally had a Spice Girls birthday party in 5th grade! Would it be inappropriate for me to wear a crop top with my half pleather leggings and platform shoes in my current condition?
