Dream Parties: Sherlock Edition

First of all, if you haven't watched the Sherlock TV show (I'm talking the BBC one, NOT "Elementary"), then you really, really need to. It's currently all on Netflix.

Second of all, if you HAVE watched any of Sherlock, you are obsessed with the show. This is a proven fact.

So, Sherlock fans, are you aware of the Sherlock special that is coming later this year? Usually, the show is set in modern-day England, but this special will be set in the Victorian era. Here's the trailer for the special that just came out yesterday!

So, this special is going to be a pretty big deal.....for me, anyway. And I want to throw a party to celebrate it. And maybe not a "dream party" this time. Maybe this party is really happening.

1. What To Wear: I'm going to be wearing my black and white damask print dress from Target (without the ice cream purse, btw). I honestly bought this dress because it reminds me of the wallpaper in Sherlock & Watson's apartment. If you want clothes with the ACTUAL wallpaper print, they can be found here: Gold Bubble Clothing- Sherlock Collection
Other acceptable attire: Deerstalker hats, scarves, trench coats, monocles/ magnifying glasses, bow ties, bowler hats, or even Victorian-era clothes if you're really feeling adventurous.

2. Decor/Setting: The door to our house will say "221 B". Upon entering our house, you will hear violin music playing (I'm sorry I tried to draw a violin but it was really difficult and it ended up looking like a monster made of wood). All around the room you'll see crime scene tape, British flags and a large yellow smiley face on the wall, just like the one in their Baker Street apartment.

3. Games/ Activities: We'll obviously be watching the special together, and that will consume most of our time. But during any down time, we can play the game Sherlock & Watson played at Watson's bachelor party, where they taped celebrity names to each others' heads and had to guess the name on their own head. ("Am I a pretty lady?"). I would suggest playing Clue, but I don't think I could promise that much of my attention span while the special is on.

3. Food: If I'm being honest, this is what I'm most excited about. We will be drinking Sherlock tea (available here), and eating chocolate covered digestives, scones, Moriarty apples (IOU), and my famous gingerbread Watson mustache cookies. I'm going to search the thrift stores for vintage tea cups, but if you want to bring your own mug, may I suggest this one from Amazon?

So....hypothetically...if I really did throw this dream party, who would be there? ;)
